Gypsy and me in Cape Breton

Aug. 12th to 15th - Plage Saint - Pierre - Cheticamp, Cape Breton

This was my August 4 day weekendFriends of mine go to Cheticamp for 2 weeks every year this year I decided to join them in the middle of their vacation.  What a GREAT WEEKEND!!  Plan on going back next year but for 5 days instead of 4.  Really did not want to leave on Monday. :-(   It is a long drive too so if anyone decides to go, make it worth your while and stay more than 2 nights.  Usually I do some touring around but this was a lazy weekend and because the beach was so close, made me even lazier!

There was a little confusion when I was checking in with double booking of the chalets and trailers but my spot was all good!  They have had some staff changes at the campground and it has given them some grief this year but I expect by next year, everything should be OK again.

Cheticamp has an NSLC, Royal Bank, Bargain Shop, Dollar Store, lots of Restaurants and little shops.  Oh yeh, they have a Tim Hortons too!!

Jason, Lori and Family camper was right behind me.  Perfect site!  The pic on the right is looking down the street my site was on.

Pic on the left is looking up my street and on the right is another street.  Lots of nice streets and wonderful views.

Saturday's weather was not the greatest but is was warm.  Took a walk to the beach and got some great shots of the surrounding mountains.

We could see the sun on the other side of the mountain but it would not come over the mountain....

Kids play ground and dish washing station.  Cold water but there are 6 sinks there.  The kids used them for filling water balloons.

Tenting area in the field and another street heading to a mostly seasonal area.

Ladies and men's washrooms.  Not sure about the mens but the ladies had 6 toilets and 4 showers.  Large showers with usually lots of hot water!  Had a cold shower monday morning.

There are 2 playgrounds, b-ball courts, tennis courts, mini golf, wifi in the office, pool hall and Laundry facilities.  They also have several rental chalets and trailers.

The beach on Sunday.  Nice and relaxing!!

Fee:  $31.50 per night plus tax

Weather:  Sunny and hot on Friday, 26 degrees, the night was perfect, probably around 20, not sure, no way to tell.  Saturday was overcast all day and even spit a few times but it was warm, probably around  22 or 24.  In the evening the skies cleared and we could see the stars.  Sunday was again sunny and hot, probably around 28 degrees.  Clear Sunday night with a blood moon.  Monday morning it was cloudy and started raining lightly around 10:30.  By the time I hit Judique, the sun was out and started getting hot.
